~OUR TRAILERS SOUNDTRACK~
Here is an example of each of the Soundtracks to be included.
(Below each title there is a link to the music on YouTube)
1. Dead Can Dance - The Host Of Seraphim
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QJhVM930YXY
2. The Wrestler Soundtrack - 01 Gymnasium
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UyOIWZb-WU0
3. Death is the Road to Awe
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=91GcPnjrGdE
4. Requiem For a Dream
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KSY4Yi2ypno
However our group might want to decide to use minimal music due to our trailer wants to capture the dark side or dark feel of a movie. So the minimal music help to create a more startling prospect for us to make the viewers want to watch the movie and also the conventions of a documentary is to have less music. So we might want to carry that forward to ur production if needs be
~SOUND EFFECTS~
Below is a list of all the sound we hope to include in our trailer.
· School bell: To create a school-time Atmosphere and to make it sound like we are actual inside a school and have that sense of students rushing home.
· Leaves rustling: To give the park scenes a more naturalistic feel and to make the viewers visualise the whole scene and so add to the tension on screen.
· Birds Singing: These will also be include in the park scenes so the background ambience is not to artificial looking and the sound would be quiet to allow more natural sounds.
· Heavy Breathing: This sound effect will be used to show the dead body been dragged from the leave area and is also a convention of the thriller genre.

~MEETING 9TH DECEMBER~
So the group had booked the camera so complete the whole recording footage part of the trailer. So Suhail was the camera man telling the popular boy (ME) who to act and where to position myself so the shot would look interesting and more innovative. As a group we decided to complete the whole process of capturing footage because we wanted to leave sufficient time to other task like the
· Editing.
· Sound.
· Captions.
The whole plan is to complete the recording part before we break up for the Christmas holidays and leave the rest of the time to focus on the above topics. The group decided that next Wednesday 16th of December we shall totally complete the remainder of our trailer so we will do the scene were i am lying unconscious on the floor and being attacking by a mysterious figure after being accused of the killing of the girl. Whilst next week me and Suhail are going to complete the beating up scene, Hina and Sameria shall be focusing on the captions and trying to complete and finish them so there is no unnecessary time they are wasting and valuable time is saved and used effectively. They both will be using Photoshop to add the distributors logos and production companies logo so our trailer
To conclude this week’s meeting, everyone was involved in the valuable scene that needed to be recorded and each member of my group know exactly what the need to do and complete for our trailer and finally we decided to film the remainder of what is left to film next Wednesday before the Christmas holidays.

~THE TRAILER CAPTIONS~

The UKFC is an Independent film Distribution Company backed by the UK government to establish educational films and furthermore they are in partnership with the lottery to fund low budget movies to make more in-depth movies.

This is another Independent distribution company well known for distributing films for example like “The Lovely Bones” and “Paranormal Activity”
This is cut from the actual main poster that Hina had created for her coursework. This movie poster was created on Photoshop so you can manipulate the texts to fit the specific genre your making your movie for eg (HORROR)Monday, 7 December 2009
~ADDING CAPTIONS~
(Here is an example of our Flim Festival/Awards Caption)Our group has researched and are looking from a variety of trailer for captions to include in our production. So the group looked at films from the same genre and used their codes and conventions to come up and create new captions to include.
The group looked at the following trailer and many more
Furthermore here are some examples of some of the captions:
Institutional Data. EG; a GREENT CLASSICS production. FILMFOUR presents THE CUT in association with GREENT. "THE CUT". RAZA MUSTAFA. UZMA AKBAR. Casting director SAMERIA IDRIS. Director of Photography, HINA MAJEED. Written, Produced and Directed by RAZA MUSTAFA & SUHAIL. etc

~MEETING 2ND DECEMBER~
Furthermore we wanted Sam to also do they voice over for the captions for example “Cannes films festival award winner”. However not being too harsh but Sam’s voice was not deep enough so the group came up with a second person to perform the voice over for captions. So we asked the English teacher Michael to perform it. Also Michael voice was perfect due to his voice is deeper and sounded more conventional like the movie trailer voice over's.
Finally Hina took the camera home to record the remaining scene of her family members and neighbours questioning the popular boy and asking questions.

UPLOADING PROMBLEMS CONTINUE...
1. You can only capture two second of the clip at a time and the actually record amount of film which we did is nineteen minutes of recording so the whole process is long and very time consuming.
2. This is contrasting to the first time we tried to upload work to the Macs and we had a huge seven minute clip and digesting that into each shots which is also a long process
So alot of time has been wasted on the whole upload side of the trailer and the deadline is getting closer and closer.
So the action we might have to take is
· Record the scene again.
· Change the tape due to fault.
· Take each two second clip and join them togetour.
Photgraphs of filming part 2.........................
This photographs shows the group of girls talking about "Flimclub"
This photgraph shows sam and suhail fixing the camera to get different angles.
This photograph shows the Cu of Flimclub poster made by Hina
This photograph shows Suhail and me talking about what angle is needed for the shot
and finally this show shows the M-E-S of the classroom. We took a few photographs to evident our group’s Second part of our filming and each group member role in the trailer. so on Wednesday the 25th of November as a group we decided to complete the remaining part of the trailer inside college. So we have the following scenes1. The corridor scene(Photo is above)=so we completed the variety of shot so we had a Close up of the poster and furthermore a group of girls talking about the film club. Also we had a few tracking shot and a track of the popular boy going up to the group of girls.
2. The classroom scene =we had Sam as our teacher so he did his introduction to the coursework and welcomed the excited junior filmmakers. So we had Sam in a variety of position so we could choose the best place for him to stand.

Final part of Filming
The Classroom Scene=
For this scene we had to have a full classroom of student fillers which would make the whole atmosphere of the classroom, so the group had brought alot of volunteer to just play student. Furthermore Sam did his part of the film club teacher and introduced the whole film club and the coursework. The group did this scene in four different ways which were
1. Close up of teacher face.
2. Medium shot of teacher.
3. Wide Shot of the teacher.
4. A variety of different point where the teacher is going to stand.
Further we shot some close up of some students so the group has a variety of cuts to add to the trailer.
The Corridor Scene=
So for this scene we firstly did close up of the actual poster so we have a variety of shots, then moving on we had a group of girls looking and talking about the film clip and then the next shot is when the popular boy come up to the girls and ask them about “if they are going”and “is the popular girl going”.

Final part of Filming/Meeting
1. The Mac Room.
2. The Other media room (1CN04).
3. The Entrance/Quad.
4. The staircase.
Furthermore we have a teacher for the classroom scene which is Sam, so the group has came up with an initial script but however I personally believe as Sam is a teacher it would look more realistic and natural to have him improvise the script and pretended he giving normal students a coursework. Also Sam role in the trailer is going to be the teacher of the film club, so he is going to give the whole club a project on “The world at your doorstep”. So this is the initial part of our trailer. Also today is the annual meeting so we are going to talk about the actual constructing of the movie trailer and how we all going to make time to help with the editing of the actual trailer. So the meeting should be taking place after our filming has stop (approximately around 4-5pm)
Finally if all the Filming is not completed i can completed the remaining shot of the popular boy(ME)uploading the work due to it only a few shots and the toilet scene if need be.

Strengths and Weakness of the group
Strengths:
- The whole group is dedicated to their roles so for example Hina has produced additional posters design for our trailer to add a more realistic and authentic feel to the whole trailer. Furthermore also Suhail has taken a key part in the camera department by having a few unconventional scenes like running through the tree following the popular boy, so this adds speed to the shot.
- The group are coming up with ideas throughout the whole production so the creative skills from the group are always trying to improve the trailer on a daily rate. For example we all wanted to add more shots to our trailer and the group want to include just the best and more eye catching shot to attract the viewer.
- The group was excellent on a first filming session, so the group worked well even through bad weather condition and everybody was on time and ready to give the best so I commend the group for their attitude.
Weaknesses: - The group was been working hard but I want to highlight that the organising need slight improving in accordance to the work is not in one place. so to improve we need to collect all the work have keep it in one place so the accessibility to the work is more quicker and faster
- Another problem I would like to comment on is the cast. The problem we had with cast is that many of them have slight or tight schedule so they can only record for a set amount of time, so this was a problem because we had to reshot some shots and the cast was not to happy.

Problem with the uploading our work
1. We captured all of our video into a SEVEN MINUTE CLIP when we uploaded our work to FCE
This was our first problem because the clip is a whole seven minutes long so the long process of finding each individual shot and labelling it up and the dock would waste valuable time.
2. From this experience we need to re-upload the work to FCE and capture each shot by pressing ESC on the keyboard while capturing each individual shot.
By re-uploading our work on FCE we would have each individual shot labelled up and the process of putting each clip in the order according to our step outline would be alot easier and faster.

Start of the Fliming
We had a variety of shots and angles for example
· Low angle of the Group walking around in the park.
· High angle of the girl being dragged to focus on her Legs mainly
· Cu of the girl faces to show her expression.
· Panning to establish the setting which is in the park
· Ls to show the main boy running to find the girl
· Tracking the main boy as his running to show urgency and speed of the clip.
Each person in our group had a specific role in the production these were
Raza-The main Boy (protagonist)
Uzma –The main Girl (protagonist)
Suhail-The camera
Hina & Sameria-They both had the script and screenplay (Co-producers) and giving screen directions
Finally the group took photographs to further prove our filming took place.

Filming
- Uploading of the work
- The teacher giving deadlines
- the inside class shots
- Popular guy being questioned by people over the murder

Group Meeting
1-To refine the actual plot of our trailer
2-To get ideas to make out trailer more interting
3-Where in the trailer will there be that change to increase spped and tension
4-To start of the Storyboard(We completed 10 shots)
5-We each have compiled our own endings so we can incorporate all our ideas and make the trailer have a dramatic ending
MY ROLE IN THE PRODUCTION
Firstly the name of our trailer is called “Cut”.
} The basic plot of our trailer is that we start of at film club in college where student come regularly to watch movies and discuss the issues represented in the movie and does it interest them. During one of the weeks the whole club is giving a coursework style task to record their own movie. So a group of student go into a sort of natural park with alot of green lands. To record a documentary of some kind the teacher ask the student to return to the coach to go back to college however somebody leaves there camera. However the camera had been left on and was still recording. The camera records a person being dragged by the legs but someone shoes are seen and the suspect is it large.
} The Target audience of our trailer is going to be teenagers and students from the ages of 15-25 years old due to mostly teenagers and young adults enjoy the whole Crime Thriller style genre.
The inspiration for our trailer
} There was a variety of movie that inspired our trailer for example The Blair Witch project has a realistic Gorilla style filming which adds to the whole atmosphere and look of the movie. This movie is about three young film makers whom disappear and their footage is found a year later.
} Here is an example of the style of film making from The Blair Witch Project.
My Role
} My individual role in the actual production is the editing, the editing is compiling each individual shot to firstly make the whole trailer and then add certain effects and style to add a new dimension to the movie.
} The editing part of the productions consists of the following:
} The speed of the trailer
} The transitions
} Montages
} The flashbacks
} Adding the sound to the moving images
} Add the Voice over
The next few slides are going to describe each aspect of editing to the trailer and with examples.
Speed
} The speed of the trailer plays a huge role on determining the actual mood of the trailer for example at the start the speed will be of a normal pace to create a sense of equilibrium but as each part of the plot unfolded the gradually speed will increase to synchronise with the actions on screen. So as the tension is building so will be the speed of the trailer.
} Also Slow motion will be used to exploit the clues to who is the murderer.
Transition
A Transition is the moving from one scene to another to create a sense of time in trailers for example in our trailer there will be MS of all the pupils in the library receiving the Coursework brief and then furthermore the groups walking through the park talking about what they are going to record and what they are going to do after the trip.
Montage
A montage is a series of short shots to condense space and time. so this will be a quick selection of images at the start of the trailer
A student putting up a a4 notice on the board
All the students standing outside the classroom for the film club
Then the whole class sitting receiving the Deadline for their coursework
This is effective because the short shots get the viewers intrigued form the start and from early on in the trailer the viewer is already asking question where is this and what the trailer is about.
